Tom Creedon Cup Draw   06/01/2019

The Tom Creedon Cup Draw for 2019 which is sponsored by Fitzgeralds Bookshop Macroom was held in the Castle Hotel Macroom on Saturday January 05th.

Proceedings were opened by Macroom GAA Chairman Joe Carroll who welcomed the large crowd in attendance especially welcoming Mark Sheehan - newly elected vice chairman of the Cork County Board and fellow Muskerry man; Tom Creedon Junior (Tom's son and representing the Creedon family) and then finally also welcoming the sponsors of the competition.

The Chairman then handed over to Tom Creedon Junior who spoke extremely well of how delighted he was to be there on behalf of the Creedon family and it meant a lot to see the large number of teams who had entered and thanked the Macroom club for continuing to honour his father's memory by holding this competition.

Marc Sheehan then who was there both to oversee the draw and represent the Cork County Board thanked all in attendance and particularly the Macroom club for continuing to hold this prestigious competition and wished both Macroom and all other clubs involved well for the coming year.

Finally as is tradition a former team mate of Tom Creedon spoke - this year Leo Goold spoke on behalf of all of Tom's former teammates (Leo won an All Ireland Minor title with Tom in 1972 and an Intermediate County with Macroom where Tom was captain in 1982) Leo spoke eloquently on what a great friend and team mate Tom was on and off the pitch and gave people a sense of the competitor and club man Tom was.

The draw then was conducted by Tom Creedon Junior and Leo Goold and is as follows:
