Biography

Occupation: Business Analyst, Schools/College Attended: included CIT/UCC, Donal Óg first played football aged five in O'Donovan Rossa Park, Skibbereen and the biggest influence on his football career has been his family. The best advice he was ever given was work hard, keep focused and set goals and he believes that the ability to kick pass effectively is the most important skill in football as it speeds up the game. He would like to see the direct pick-up introduced, and his best memory outside of playing is watching his club senior team train and play games when he was a child. As a player, the highlight has been winning West Cork and County U21 titles with his club, which, he says, is always special, and his favourite sport other than football is golf. The sporting event he would most like to attend is the Masters Golf Tournament. To date his favourite moment in sport is Fulham beating Juventus in the Europa League Semi Final 2010. Favourite Venue: First, Rossa Park; second, Croke Park. Favourite G.A.A. player: Ryan Price. The sportsperson he would most like to meet is Rory McIlroy. The hardest part of his sporting life is travelling from Dublin. Toughest player to mark in training is Niall Coakley The ‘joker’ on the panel is Ryan Price. If he won the lotto the first thing he would buy is another lotto ticket. Favourite holiday destination: Hawaii. Favourite Food: Chicken, rice, vegetable. Favourite Drink: Pineapple Juice. Favourite Music: The Coronas. Favourite Film: The Prestige. In ten years time he hope to be: Fit and healthy One thing you may not know about him…… he can’t swim
