Biography

The Ballydesmond works as a Service Engineer. He first started playing football in the back garden with his father.Biggest influence on your football career has been his father, uncles, Conor Counihan, Billy Morgan and Ned English. He has won numerous honours at club and county level, including a County Minor Football title, Munster and All-Ireland Junior Football medals and three Munster Senior Football Championships. He made his inter-county debut against Dublin in 2006, and fittingly it was his penalty against Dublin in 2010 that swung the All-Ireland Semi-Final in Cork's favour. He believes the catch is the most important skill in football, and his favourite other sport is handball. He's also good at pool! His best football memory outside of playing was the 1990 All-Ireland Final, and he considers Peter Canavan to be the greatest player he has ever seen. The sporting event would he most like to attend is Manchester United in a Champions League Final. To date what his favourite moment in sport has been 2007 Duhallow Championship and the 2010 All-Ireland. Favourite Venue: Pairc Ui Chaoimh. Favourite G.A.A. player: Sean Cavanagh. The sportsperson he would most like to meet is Zlatan Ibrahinovic. The hardest part of HIS sporting life is missing social events. Toughest player to mark in training is James Loughrey. The ‘joker’ on the panel IS Colm O' Neill. If he won the lotto the first thing he would buy is a house in Kinsale. Favourite holiday destination: Brazil. Favourite Food: Chicken Curry. Favourite Drink: Glass of wine/coffee. Favourite Music: Anything. Favourite Film: Jungle Book. In ten years time he hope to be happy, healthy + few more medals.
