Cork GAA Board mourns the loss of Paudie Palmer
Cork GAA are saddened to hear of the death of Paudie Palmer, C103 GAA commentator & columnist for the Echo. Paudie has been a brilliant servant to our games over many years. The press box in SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh & Páirc Uí Rinn and around the country will be a lonely place without his presence. Paudie was universally loved by all on Leeside and beyond. His loss will be keenly felt by his family, friends, colleagues and everyone in Cork.
Cork GAA Chairman Marc Sheehan led tributes to the late Paudie Palmer describing him; “as a stalwart GAA commentator who though his colourful descriptions, humour and wit brought the magic of many matches to the listeners of C103 over many years. His capacity to vividly describe many scenarios set him apart on the live radio sports scene. He applied equal weight to all games from Junior C to Senior Intercounty and immersed himself in the game as it unfolded. Cork GAA extends our deepest condolences to Collette and family, to the Valley Rovers club and to all who mourn Paudie.
Ní bheidh a leithéid arís ann.”
