Cork GAA Post Primary Schools Football Season Throws In

The 2025/26 Cork GAA Post Primary Schools season gets underway this Friday, September 19th, as schools from every corner of the county begin their campaigns. The opening day promises plenty of excitement with fixtures spread across Senior A, B, C and D levels.
From Togher to Mallow, young footballers will line out with hopes of setting the tone for a successful season. For some schools, it’s a chance to build on last year’s progress, while for others it’s the start of a brand-new journey at senior level.
This year also marks a fresh chapter off the pitch. Since the beginning of the academic year, the running of Cork GAA Post Primary Schools has been supported by the Cork GAA Games Office, providing additional coordination and development across competitions. This new structure is set to strengthen the link between schools and the wider GAA community in Cork.
Friday’s opening programme features six fixtures, all scheduled for the morning and early afternoon, with plenty of local pride at stake.
