Co-op Superstores Intermediate ‘A’ HC 2025 Semi-Final Preview
The race for the Co-op Superstores Intermediate ‘A’ Championship title has reached the semi-final stage, with two mouth-watering clashes on Saturday, October 4th. Sarsfields will take on Bandon in Riverstick at 4:00 PM, while Aghada face Aghabullogue in Ballyanley, also at 4:00 PM. Each of the four teams has battled through three group stage games and either a quarter-final or a bye to reach this stage. Here’s how they got here:

Semi-Final 1: Sarsfields vs Bandon

Sarsfields’ Path
Sarsfields laid down a marker in Round 1 with a big win over Youghal, 3-22 (31) to 0-15 (15). They carried that momentum into Round 2, where they overcame Blackrock 0-22 (22) to 1-14 (17). Their only stumble came in Round 3, a high-scoring battle with Aghabullogue that ended 3-13 (22) to 2-13 (19) against them. Still, their strong group performance ensured they topped their group and advanced straight to the semi-finals, avoiding the quarter-final stage.

Bandon’s Path
Bandon opened their campaign with a 3-18 (27) to 0-19 (19) win over Russell Rovers, followed by a Round 2 defeat to Midleton, 1-20 (23) to 1-15 (18). They recovered well in Round 3, powering past Mayfield 1-25 (28) to 1-15 (18). In the quarter-finals, they faced a thriller against Erin’s Own, edging it 3-19 (28) to 4-10 (22) to book their semi-final clash with Sarsfields.

Aghada’s Path
Aghada’s group campaign was dramatic. They lost narrowly in Round 1 to Kildorrery, 2-19 (25) to 1-22 (25), before bouncing back strongly with a 1-27 (30) to 0-17 (17) victory over Erin’s Own. They sealed their semi-final place in Round 3 with another solid win, beating Ballygiblin 2-20 (26) to 1-15 (18). With two wins from three, they qualified directly for the semi-finals, avoiding the quarter-final stage.

Aghabullogue’s Path

In Round 3, they edged a classic against Sarsfields, 3-13 (22) to 2-13 (19), to complete a perfect group campaign. In the quarter-finals, they kept their run going with a 1-18 (21) to 1-12 (15) victory over Midleton, securing their semi-final clash with Aghada.
