Kilbrittain Power Past Knockaderry, Marching to Munster Final Showdown

Night of celebration and sadness for county champions Kilbrittain as Oisín Gillain is remembered

Kilbrittain have successfully navigated the AIB Munster Club Junior Hurling Championship semi-final, securing their place in the decider after a commanding 1-23 to 1-16 victory over Limerick champions Knockaderry last Saturday.

The West Cork side now prepares for a highly anticipated final against Waterford’s Kilrossanty.

Despite a slow start, Kilbrittain found their footing quickly, establishing a seven-point run that gave them a lead they never relinquished. While Knockaderry leveled the score briefly with a first-half goal, Kilbrittain maintained composure to lead 0-11 to 1-6 at the break.

The second half saw substitute Luke Griffin score a crucial goal, assisted by Conor Ustianowski, ensuring the necessary breathing room. Mark Hickey was the star performer, delivering a flawless display from placed balls to finish with an impressive **0-12** total.

Knockaderry’s cause was hindered by disciplinary issues, with two late red cards. Kilbrittain’s defence remained solid throughout, sealing a comfortable 7-point victory.

Final Score: Kilbrittain 1-23, Knockaderry 1-16.
