Cork’s Colm Lyons to referee All-Ireland Final 2026

The GAA is delighted to confirm that Colm Lyons from Cork will be the referee for the 2026 GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship Final on July 19th, between Galway and Limerick, in what will be Colm’s second Senior Final.

Colm is a member of the Nemo Rangers GAA Club and has also refereed the 2022 All-Ireland final between Limerick and Kilkenny, the All-Ireland Minor Final in 2012, the National Hurling League Final in 2017, the Leinster Hurling Final in 2017, the Munster Hurling Final in 2024 and the All-Ireland Senior Club final in 2018 & 2020.

In this year’s Hurling Championship, Colm has refereed Limerick vs Tipperary in the Munster Championship, as well as Galway vs Dublin and Galway vs Kilkenny in the Leinster Championship.

The Final will be Colm’s 39th Liam MacCarthy game to referee since his first in 2012.

His score umpires on the day will be Ciarán Hanley from the Brian Dillons Club, Jim McEvoy from Blarney, Philip Mackey and Finian Mullane, both from the Nemo Rangers club.

His line umpires on the day will be Wexford’s James Owens and Dublin’s Chris Mooney. James will be the standby referee, and the Sideline Official will be Niall Malone from Clare. David Grogan from Tipperary will be the Hawkeye Official.
