Dr Harty Cup 2026-27: Cork Schools Learn Their Group Stage Opponents
Four Cork schools will compete in the 2026-27 TUS Dr Harty Cup, following the recent draw.

Gaelcholáiste Mhuire an Mhainistir Thuaidh and Midleton CBS have been drawn in Group 2, alongside reigning champions St Joseph’s CBS Nenagh and Limerick’s Ardscoil Rís.
It promises to be one of the most competitive sections of the competition. St Joseph’s CBS Nenagh secured their second Harty Cup title in three years last January, while Ardscoil Rís were crowned Dean Ryan Cup champions last December.
There is also recent history between Midleton CBS and Gaelcholáiste Mhuire, with Midleton coming out on top in the 2024-25 Dean Ryan Cup final.
Group 3 will also have a strong Cork presence, with Christian Brothers College Cork drawn alongside St Flannan’s College Ennis, Our Lady’s Secondary School Templemore and John The Baptist Community School Hospital.
CBC reached last year’s Dean Ryan Cup final, where they were narrowly defeated by Ardscoil Rís, while St Flannan’s were beaten by St Joseph’s CBS Nenagh in the most recent Harty Cup final.
The fourth Cork representative, St Colman’s College Fermoy, will compete in Group 4. They have been drawn with St Joseph’s Secondary School Tulla, Blackwater Community School Lismore and Castletroy College.
The only group without a Cork school is Group 1, which features Thurles CBS, De La Salle Waterford, Tralee CBS and Cashel Community School.
With two teams from each group progressing to the quarter-finals, the Cork schools face a demanding route through the group stages.
Cork’s most recent Harty Cup success came in 2019, when Midleton CBS defeated Christian Brothers College in the final. Since then, no Cork school has reached the decider.
