Gaelic4Mothers&Others Festival Raises €9,316 for Cork Mental Health Foundation

More than 500 women took part in the Festival of Football & Wellbeing Day at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh, bringing the community together to raise vital funds for mental health.

A fantastic €9,316 has been raised for Cork Mental Health Foundation following the hugely successful Gaelic4Mothers&Others Festival of Football & Wellbeing Day, held at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Saturday, 25 July 2026.

Organised by Rosaleen O’Brien and hosted by Bride Rovers G4M&O, Dromtarriffe Dollies and Carrigtwohill Cougars, the festival brought together 30 teams, including 24 from Cork and six from other counties across Ireland.

More than 500 women enjoyed the unique experience of playing on the famous SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh pitch, celebrating friendship, teamwork, inclusion and the positive impact of sport on physical and mental wellbeing.

Promoting Positive Mental Health and Wellbeing

The wellbeing talks were organised by Healthy Ireland in Cork County Council, featuring inspirational speakers Miriam Hussey, Dr Orlagh Farmer, Bríd Stack and Brenda Dennehy.

The speakers shared their personal experiences, insights and journeys, highlighting the importance of positive mental health, resilience and overall wellbeing.

Approximately 20 organisations and services from around Cork also took part in the wellbeing exhibition, offering information, advice and support to participants.

Sports and lifestyle brands added to the festival atmosphere, while live music from Out of Order brought the day’s celebrations to a memorable close.

A Fantastic Community Fundraising Effort

Organiser Rosaleen O’Brien expressed her delight at the fundraising achievement and thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the festival.

Particular thanks were extended to Cork GAA for generously providing SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh and its facilities, along with event partners Healthy Ireland in Cork County Council, LGFA, Munster LGFA and Cork Sports Partnership, and media partner Cork’s 96FM, for their invaluable support.

The funds raised will support the vital work of Cork Mental Health Foundation, a Cork-based charity dedicated to promoting positive mental health, raising awareness and supporting people experiencing mental health difficulties.
