Two weeks after lifting the Sean Óg Murphy Cup, Glen Rovers are back in action against the Clare champions.

The Glen beat St Finbarr’s 2-20 to 0-23 in the county final on 18 October, a 28th Cork senior title and their first in ten years.

It is the club’s first Munster campaign as Cork champions since 2016, when they reached the provincial final and lost to Ballyea. They were last in Munster in 2019, losing a semi-final to Borris-Ileigh. Inagh-Kilnamona are making their Munster club debut after winning the Clare title.

The winners meet Thurles Sarsfields in the Munster semi-final on Sunday 15 November.

St Mary’s v Ballincollig

Ballincollig take their historic season on the road to Tipperary.

James Dwyer’s side won the club’s first Premier Intermediate title on 18 October, beating Dungourney 1-19 to 0-16 under manager Éamonn Keating. The win also lifts Ballincollig into Senior A hurling for 2027.

St Mary’s beat Killenaule in the Tipperary final and are coached by Kilbrittain’s Jamie Wall, so there is a Cork connection in the opposing dugout.

The winners play Clashmore Kinsalebeg (Waterford) or Abbeydorney (Kerry) in the Munster semi-final on Sunday 15 November.

Bandon hold off late Aghada rally to claim IAHC title

Bandon were crowned Co-Op SuperStores Intermediate A Hurling Champions after overcoming a determined Aghada challenge, securing a 0-25 to 2-18 victory at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

The Lilywhites looked comfortable for much of the contest, building a six-point half-time advantage after producing some excellent attacking hurling. Conor Calnan, Charlie Long and Jack Cullinane were among those to impress as Bandon maintained control throughout the second half.

Darren Crowley’s third point of the afternoon put Bandon eight clear with just four minutes remaining, but Aghada produced a dramatic late response, with goals from Jude Devoy and Pearse O’Neill setting up a tense finish.

However, Bandon held their nerve in the closing stages to secure the county title and bring the silverware back to the Viaduct.

Ian Jones hat-trick fires Uibh Laoire to PIFC title

Uibh Laoire were crowned McCarthy Insurance Group Premier Intermediate Football Champions following an impressive 4-22 to 0-23 victory over Kiskeam at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Saturday evening.

Ian Jones was the standout performer, hitting a superb first-half hat-trick of goals to help Uibh Laoire establish a commanding advantage. Despite trailing by 13 points at one stage, Kiskeam showed tremendous character to fight their way back into contention, reducing the deficit to six points by half-time.

The sides continued to trade scores after the restart, but a fourth goal from Cork star Chris Óg Jones helped Uibh Laoire maintain control. Jones finished with an outstanding 1-10, while Cathal Vaughan also contributed four points.

Kiskeam battled bravely throughout, but Uibh Laoire’s greater firepower proved decisive as they secured the county title and a place in the senior ranks for the first time in 2027.
