Go Games Programme 2026 Kicks Off This Saturday

This Saturday, April 4th marks the exciting start of the Go Games Programme for 2026, with teams from U8 to U11  across Cork taking to the field.

The Go Games initiative continues to play a vital role in developing young players, focusing on participation, skill development, and enjoyment in a fun and inclusive environment.

Huge Numbers for Opening Weekend

The scale of participation across the county highlights the continued growth and strength of underage Gaelic games in Cork.

For U8 Football this Saturday, we have:

  • 80 clubs registered
  • 6 venues hosting games
  • Over 180 five-a-side teams confirmed

That equates to approximately 900 children taking part in U8 football alone this weekend.

Strong participation continues across the older age groups:

  • U9: 70 clubs
  • U10: 117 clubs
  • U11: 68 clubs

In total, over 3,100 children are expected to be playing across U9, U10, and U11 age groups on Saturday.

A Celebration of Participation

The Go Games programme ensures that every child gets the opportunity to play, learn, and enjoy Gaelic games in a structured and supportive setting. The emphasis remains firmly on fun, inclusion, and development, with all players encouraged to express themselves and build their skills.
