Sunday Round-Up

Cork PSHC semi-final: Glen Rovers 2-20 Midleton 1-18

Micheál Mullins’ two second-half goals set up Glen Rovers’ first premier senior county final against St Finbarr’s in 38 years, avenging last year’s quarter-final defeat to Midleton at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh. A sluggish Midleton, four weeks without a game, trailed by six after 21 minutes. They rallied when Conor Lehane moved to the half-forward line, and Tomás Mulcahy’s side led just 0-10 to 0-9 at the break. Mullins finished low after a solo run early in the second half. Paul Connaughton replied with a deflected strike, but Mullins struck again on 54 minutes. Patrick Horgan hit 0-11.

Cork PJHC semi-final: Kilshannig 2-24 Argideen Rangers 0-15

Kilshannig will face St Catherine’s in the Premier Junior final after an emphatic win over Argideen Rangers before a fine attendance in Coachford. Driven on by their Senior A football defeat the previous weekend, the Avondhu side struck early through Diarmuid O’Sullivan’s seventh-minute goal and never looked back. Andy Hourigan hit six points from play. Jack Twomey then finished Kieran Twomey’s long-range free to the net as they led 2-12 to 0-8 at the break. Argideen, without the injured John Michael O’Callaghan, lacked penetration against a defence marshalled by Colm O’Shea. Kilshannig were 2-20 to 0-11 clear by the 51st minute.
