Launch of 2026 McCarthy Insurance Group County Football Leagues
This coming weekend sees the commencement of the 2026 McCarthy Insurance Group Cork County Football League campaigns. Clubs from across the county will compete for league honours across seven divisions. The league competitions have attained a distinct profile in the context of the split season, and clubs will be keen to ensure that a positive league campaign acts as a springboard for a tilt at the championship in the summer, when inter-county competition comes to an end.

To mark the launch of the football leagues, Cork County GAA chairperson Pat Horgan welcomed Charles McCarthy, Chairman McCarthy Insurance Group, and Brendan Harrington, CEO McCarthy Insurance Group, to SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Monday 23rd February for a photoshoot with players from last year’s league winning clubs across the seven divisions.
The players in attendance were:
- Division 1: Thomas Egan, St Finbarr’s
- Division 2: Timmy O’Connor, Knocknagree
- Division 3: Cathal Vaughan, Uíbh Laoire
- Division 4: Óisín O’Connell, Aghabullogue
- Division 5: Lawrence Aisling, Kilmurry
- Division 6: Conor Dodd, Canovee
- Division 7: Bill Fleming, Argideen Rangers
Speaking at the launch, Pat Horgan said:
‘I am delighted to welcome players from last year’s league winning clubs to SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh today as we look forward to this year’s competitions. The leagues are a popular feature of our calendar, as our clubs return to competitive football after the winter break. I wish the clubs represented here today every success in the year ahead. I wish to thank McCarthy Insurance Group also for their continued generous sponsorship of our football leagues.’
Brendan Harrington said:

Kearys Motor Group Delivers Six new kit vans to Cork GAA
KEARYS MOTOR GROUP DELIVERS SIX BRAND-NEW KIT VANS TO CORK GAA
It was an exciting day for Cork GAA as Kearys Motor Group officially handed over six brand-new Renault Trafic vans to the county’s hurling and football teams. These vans, which will serve the Minor, U20, and Senior squads, mark the start of the 2026 season’s official van partnership and promise safe, reliable journeys to games across the country.
The handover took place at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh, where team members, management, and Kearys representatives came together to celebrate the new fleet. The vans, sporting bold Cork GAA decals, are already turning heads and are set to become a familiar sight on roads across the county.
The excitement was shared by Kevin Hourihan, Head of Fleet – Kearys Leasing, who added:
Among those present at the launch were some familiar faces from the Cork GAA family, including Senior Hurler Tim O’Mahony, Commercial Director Sinéad O’Keeffe, and kit men Derek Connolly and Mick Curtin, along with Kearys representatives Julian Boylan and Jackie Dawson.
The new vans represent more than just transport—they are a symbol of partnership and support between Cork GAA and Kearys Motor Group. Whether it’s ferrying players to training, matches, or community events, these vans will play a vital role in the teams’ season.
Kearys Leasing has also recently launched a new website, www.kearysleasing.ie, offering the widest range of leasing options for passenger and commercial vehicles, with expert advice to help customers find the right solution for their business.
As Cork GAA teams gear up for an exciting 2026 season, fans can look forward to spotting the eye-catching Renault Trafic vans on their journeys—and wishing the teams safe travels every step of the way.
