SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh will host a unique international double-header on Saturday, October 24, when Ireland and Scotland meet in the Shinty-Hurling and Shinty-Camogie Internationals.

The GAA, Camogie Association, Camanachd Association and Women’s Camanachd Association have confirmed that Cork will host the 2026 series, bringing together the shared traditions and skills of hurling, camogie and shinty.

The Women’s Shinty-Camogie International will get underway at 4pm, with the Men’s Shinty-Hurling International following at 6pm.

The annual internationals provide a unique showcase for three of the Celtic world’s most distinctive sporting traditions, with players from Ireland and Scotland competing under the combined international rules format.

Selectors on both sides of the Irish Sea will now begin the process of selecting four squads of 19 players, with those chosen earning the honour of representing their country on the international stage.

The series returns to Ireland following last year’s successful staging in Inverness and will provide an opportunity to celebrate the strong historical and cultural links between Ireland and Scotland.

GAA President Jarlath Burns welcomed the return of the internationals to Ireland, highlighting the shared heritage of hurling and shinty and the special honour of representing one’s country.

Camogie Association President Brian Molloy also welcomed the return of the women’s fixture to Ireland, describing the series as a celebration of the shared traditions and skills of shinty and camogie.

Cork Ready to Welcome Ireland and Scotland

Cork GAA Chairperson Pat Horgan said Cork GAA is delighted to welcome both internationals to SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

“Cork has a proud hurling and camogie tradition, and it is fitting that our stadium will provide the stage for these unique international fixtures.”

He added that Cork GAA looks forward to welcoming the Irish and Scottish teams, supporters and everyone involved for what promises to be a special occasion.

The Camanachd Association’s National Development Manager Ronald Ross also welcomed the opportunity to bring the series to Cork, describing SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh as a fantastic venue for the matches.
