€40,000 up for grabs for Cork GAA clubs through Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps on-pack competition

Broadcaster Carl Mullan on hand to encourage entries which can transform local clubs

 

Wednesday May 17th: GAA clubs the length and breadth of Cork are now in with a chance of claiming  prizes through the Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps on-pack competition. Kellogg, now in its 12th year sponsoring the Kellogg’s GAA Cúl camps, has launched its nationwide competition for all GAA clubs across the county to be in with a chance of winning incredible prizes worth €40,0001. Broadcaster and winner of series 6 of Dancing with the Stars, Carl Mullan was on hand to officially launch the 2023 Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps on-pack competition.

The competition provides GAA clubs with an incredible opportunity to claim great prizes through a very simple mechanic. All that is required is to simply purchase a promotional box of Kellogg’s Coco Pops, Corn Flakes or Rice Krispies. Using the unique on-pack code, found inside the box, log on to kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie/competition and nominate a club of your choice. Cash prizes of €25,000, €10,000 and €5,000 are available to win.

Speaking at the launch of the competition, Carl said: “Everyone remembers the excitement of summer camps from when they were a kid. Some of my fondest childhood memories are getting to see my friends every day and the craic we’d have. Rebel Og Coaching Annual Club Football Skills Development Programme

Rebel Óg Coaching today announced details of our annual club football skills development programme which will see over 5,000 boys between the ages of 12 and 14 showcase their skills in a county wide competition involving 150 clubs.

 

Club coaches are invited to host a kicking skills competition in their local clubs with the 3 highest scoring players advancing to Regional finals, with the winners contesting the County Finals in SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh in May. The initiative is again being generously sponsored by Co-Op Superstores which is the retail division of Dairygold.

 

Speaking at the launch, Dermot Foley, Retail Area Manager at Co-Op Superstores said ” Co-Op Superstores, the retail division of Dairygold is hugely connected with the GAA community in parishes across Cork.  We are looking forward to being involved with Rebel Óg Coaching for another great competition this year. People Development is one of Dairygold’s core values and we are delighted to extend the opportunity to young aspiring footballers in Cork to develop their skill set.  We wish all participants the very best of luck.”

 

Cork Football Co-ordinator, Conor Counihan outlined “This initiative will continue to keep a focus on the development of the basic skills of kicking with the left and right foot – we are excited to work once again with Co-Op Superstores as sponsors and it will give young players an opportunity to highlight their skills”.

 

Clubs across the county are asked to hold their own internal competitions at U12, U13, U14 and have their club representatives nominated for the Regional Finals being held on the 21st May. The County Finals will be held on the weekend of the 28th May in SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh. Each club will be asked to nominate 3 players from each age group to represent their club, it is team event with the combined scores of each team member being counted.

Cork Gaa Senior Hurling and Football squads launched their official partnership with Brookfield Leisure Centre in conjunction with the Championship Season, at Brookfield Leisure Centre, College Road, Cork.

Cork GAA are delighted to announce Brookfield Leisure as the Leisure Centre partner for our senior teams.

 

Located in Cork City, Brookfield Leisure focus on the individual needs of each and every member, from professional swimmers to GAA players, families and students.

Brookfield Leisure have a fully equipped gym & a full schedule of classes including HIIT, spinning & strength & tone.  Players enjoy recovery sessions in the 25 meter pool, sauna, steam room & outdoor hot tub.  The newest addition to the centre is a Cryospa Ice Bath. The CryoSpa Sport offers optimum ice bath therapy and has proven to be an integral part of recovery strategy for many professional sports clubs, stadiums and elite sports facilities, accelerating athlete recovery, minimising fatigue and lowering the risk of injury.

In-season Athletic Development Workshop

On Wednesday night next, Cork GAA High-Performance Dept led by Aidan O’Connell will host a Pitch based In-season Athletic Development Workshop.

This workshop is open to all coaches of Youth aged and Adult teams. Both Aidan and Adam McCarthy will lead the workshop. The key areas that the workshop will focus on are warm-up, power, speed and fitness
