St. Finbarrs win Premier 2 U21 Hurling title

St. Finbarrs are Premier 2 Hurling Champions for the first time after a one point win over Bride Rovers.

In a game which had goals from ‘Barrs forward Brian Hayes with two and Brian Roche and Conleith Ryan for Bride Rovers, went all the way to the wire.

The final Quarter of the game saw sides level on a number of times as both teams battled for the winning score.

The ‘Barrs ran out winners 2-11 to 2-10.

Cork Scór na nÓg Buaiteoirí

The best of cultural fare emerged at the Co. Scór na nÓg Finals hosted at the Éire Óg GAA  Pavilion, Ovens with Cork Juvenile GAA and Camogie clubs parading music, song, story telling, novelty act and dancing to an appreciative audience.

 

At the end of the exciting fare, outright honours belonged to Boherbue, Sam Maguires, Carbery Rangers, St. James and Kilshannig. Muireann Vaughan from Kanturk compered the proceedings with the prizes presented by Richard Murphy, Cultural Officer, Cork GAA and Tony McAulliffe, Chairman, Coiste Scór Chorcaí.

The official launch of this range took place in SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Tuesday last. (see photo). The launch was an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of 1990, provide support to underage clubs and especially to provide much needed assistance to the Cork Penny Dinners charity , their work and volunteerism is at the heart of all that is good and generous about our proud city and county.
