Round 3 Fixtures:

Urhan v St Nicks

Ballydesmond v Cullen

 

Urhan
– Draw or win and they will top the group
– Urhan loss and Ballydesmond draw, Urhan will qualify for the knockout stage.
– Urhan loss and Ballydesmond win, Urhan will be eliminated.
– Urhan loss and Cullen win, points difference would decide Cullen and Urhan’s positions due to their drawn game in Round 1.

Ballydesmond
– If Ballydesmond win and St Nicks win, Ballydesmond top the group on head-to-head due to beating St Nicks in Round 1.
– Ballydesmond draw will be enough if Urhan draw or beat St Nicks.
– If Ballydesmond draw and St Nicks win, Ballydesmond eliminated.
– Ballydesmond loss and they will be eliminated. They would finish third if Urhan beat St Nicks. Would finish bottom if St Nicks draw.

St Nicks
– Must win to qualify.
– St Nicks win and Ballydesmond win, St Nicks qualify second.
– St Nicks draw and Cullen win, St Nicks qualify on head-to-head over Cullen.
– St Nicks loss and they will be eliminated. They would finish third if Ballydesmond win or draw. If Cullen win then St Nicks would finish bottom in this scenario.

Cullen
– If Cullen win and Urhan win, Cullen will qualify.
– If Cullen win and Urhan draw with St Nicks, Cullen will finish third.
– Draw or loss and they will be eliminated

 

Premier Junior Football Championship Group B

Round 3 Fixtures:

St Finbarr’s v Buttevant

Cobh v St Michael’s

St Finbarr’s
– Win or draw and they will top the group
– Lose to Buttevant and St Michael’s win, St Finbarr’s go through.
– Lose to Buttevant and Cobh win, points difference decides 1st to 3rd place positions due to all finishing on 4 points.

Buttevant
– Buttevant must win to qualify providing Cobh lose or draw. If Cobh win then Cobh will qualify on head-to-head due to losing to Cobh in Round 2.
– A draw and Cobh win, Buttevant eliminated.
– A draw and St Michael’s win, Buttevant go through in second place.
– A loss and Cobh draw or win, Buttevant eliminated.
– A loss and Cobh loss, 2nd to 4th place will finish on 2 points. Points difference would decide the final positions of the clubs in this scenario.

Cobh
– Win and St Finbarr’s win, Cobh qualify in second place on head-to-head due to beating to Buttevant in Round 2.
– Win and Buttevant win, points difference decides 1st to 3rd place positions due to all finishing on 4 points.
– Cobh draw and Buttevant draw, Cobh will qualify.
– Cobh draw and Buttevant win, Cobh eliminated.
– Cobh loss and St Finbarr’s win, 2nd to 4th will finish on 2 points each so points difference decides finishing positions.

St Michael’s
– Must beat Cobh to avoid finishing bottom.
– Can still qualify if they win and St Finbarr’s win but they need to finish with better points difference to Cobh and Buttevant in this case.

Round 3 Fixtures:

Kilmurry v St James

Millstreet v Kinsale

Kilmurry
– Will top the group with a draw or win.
– If Kilmurry lose to St James and Kinsale beat Millstreet, Kilmurry will still qualify.
– If Kilmurry lose to St James and Millstreet beat Kinsale, 1st to 3rd finish on 4 points each so points difference decides finishing positions. Kilmurry have a superior scoring difference so have the advantage.

Millstreet
– If Millstreet win and St James draw or lose, Millstreet will qualify
– If Millstreet win and St James win, 1st to 3rd finish on 4 points each so points difference decides finishing positions.
– If Millstreet draw and Kilmurry win, Millstreet will qualify.
– If Millstreet draw and St James win, Millstreet would be qualify on head-to-head due to beating St James in Round 2..
– Millstreet loss and St James draw or win, Millstreet will be eliminated.

St James
– Must beat Kilmurry and Kinsale to draw or beat Millstreet to qualify.
– If St James win and Millstreet win, 1st to 3rd finish on 4 points each so points difference decides finishing positions.
– If St James draw and Kinsale win, St James qualify.
– Loss and will be eliminated.

Kinsale
– If Kinsale win and Kilmurry win, 2nd to 4th would finish on 2 points each so points difference would decide finishing positions.
– Draw or loss and they will be eliminated.

Cork U20 Football Statement
Cork GAA will propose the appointment of Ray O’Mahony (Éire Óg) as Cork U20 Football manager for a two-year term at Tuesday’s County Committee meeting.
He will be joined by Michael O’Brien (Ballincollig) as coach, with additional selectors to be announced in the near future.
Both Ray and Michael have previously served as mentors in the County Development Squads and as Cork Minor Football Managers in 2023 and 2021/2022, respectively.
Chairperson Marc Sheehan, welcomed the appointment, stating, “Ray and Michael bring a wealth of experience from their time with our underage teams, as we hope to build on the good work done at Minor level over recent times.”
Cork GAA Secretary / CEO, Kevin O’Donovan said “The appointment of this group is a further indication of our desire to provide a pathway for mentors through the system, while ensuring a continuous flow of competent players to our senior panel.”

In an exciting buildup to the highly anticipated Co-Op Superstores Hurling Championship Round 3 games, Rebels Online hosted our first Preview Programme, “Down to the Wire” .

Guiding the audience through the intricacies of the championship’s forthcoming clashes was our lead commentator, Patrick Mulcahy. Adding a layer of authenticity and expertise to the proceedings, two icons of Cork Hurling, Mark Landers and Ronan Curran were part of the panel. 

With enthusiasm and insightful analysis, Landers and Curran delved into the upcoming weekend’s fixtures from the Premier Senior to the riveting contests in Senior A, Premier Intermediate, Intermediate ‘A,’ and Premier Junior. 

Rebels Online’s “Down to the Wire” event marked a momentous juncture in the championship’s round 3 games.
