The 2026 Shinty-Hurling and Camogie Internationals were officially launched in Cork on Thursday, with a mouth-watering double-header set to take place at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Saturday, October 24th.

Ireland’s hurling and camogie teams will welcome their Scottish shinty counterparts to Leeside, with the 2026 internationals following last year’s double-header in Inverness.

The hurling and camogie internationals will see the respective Ireland teams take on Scotland in the unique compromised-rules series, bringing together two of the world’s traditional small-ball sports.

Over the coming weeks, Ireland hurling manager Eamon O’Shea and camogie manager Ger Manley will hold a series of trials and training sessions before their final panels are announced.

All four squads will feature 19 players, with the games set to provide an exciting showcase of hurling, camogie and shinty at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

Speaking at Thursday’s launch, Uachtarán CLG Jarlath Burns said:

“There is no greater honour than being asked to represent your country. Our hurlers have represented their clubs and counties with distinction and now have the chance to achieve the ultimate.

“These hurling and camogie clashes with our shinty cousins in Scotland offer a chance for us both to express our special cultural identity and close ties. I hope we see a good crowd at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh for the games.”

Uachtarán an Chumainn Camógaíochta Brian Molloy said:

“It is great to see this double-header draw near. SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh will provide a fitting backdrop to what promises to be a brilliant day’s festival of small-ball action.

“Thanks to the GAA, Camanachd Association and Women’s Camanachd Association, along with all our other partners, in making this event happen.”
