Ag Triall ar Chill na Martra; Behind the scenes documentary on Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta 2024

Ag Triall ar Chill na Martra

Behind the scenes documentary on Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta 2024

Monday 30th December at 8:55pm on TG4

Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta is widely regarded as one of the most important football and social events in the annual Gaeltacht calendar. The fooball competition which began in 1969 brings together clubs from across the Gaeltacht and Irish language communities. This year during the June Bank holiday weekend, Cumann peile Chill na Martra in theMuskerry Gaeltacht hosted the the event.

In Ag Triall ar Chill na Martra we follow the players, managers and supporters of various teams as they strive to win the 2024 tournament and have their name inscribed in Gaeltacht folklore. Featured in the documentary are the mens teams from Cill na Martra and An Rinn from Waterford as well as the LGFA teams of Clann na nGael from Meath and Cumann Mícheál Breathnach from Galway.

We also follow the festival organisers as they seek to successfully host this unique football and cultural event they last hosted in 2005. Much has changed since then, the Comórtas has grown from been a small gathering to now been one of the largest GAA club events of the year.

Ag Triall ar Chill na Martra airs Monday 30th December at 8:55pm on TG4.
