Cork GAA Coaching & Games host Provincial activity days at SuperValu Pairc Ui Chaoimh;

SuperValu Pairc Ui Chaoimh – Underage Club Activity Days
Cork GAA Coaching and Games in conjunction with Munster GAA hosted 4 days of club U11 teams from across the province at SuperValu Pairc Ui Chaoimh this week.
A total of 64 teams participated in 2 days of football on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by another 64 teams in hurling on Thursday and Friday.
A stadium tour of the dressingrooms, gymnasium and media room was also included, with guest Cork players Shane Barrett and Kevin O’Donovan giving their time to chat to players and take numerous questions!
Overall a very positive experience for all the young players, with great weather, great scores and great memories.

The launch event was held in SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh and attended by players from the 2023 winning clubs. All teams will battle it out in the coming weeks for the prestigious title of Cork County champions.

 

With Cork hurling experiencing a resurgence, this year’s Co-Op Superstores Cork County Hurling Championships are set to be full of excitement for local sports enthusiasts. The Championships will begin this weekend with games throughout the County.

 

At this year’s launch, Cork County GAA Chairperson Pat Horgan said, “We are delighted to welcome Co-Op Superstores to Supervalu Páirc Uí Chaoimh for the launch of our 2024 Co-Op Superstores Cork County Hurling Championships. St. Finbarr’s secured a win in Friday’s McCarthy Insurance Group Cork Premier SFC opener against Douglas in Carrigaline. Despite missing key players, the Barrs showcased their depth and experience. Douglas managed to draw level at 0-4 each but failed to score for the rest of the half, with St. Finbarr’s responding emphatically. Despite a late flurry from Douglas, the Barrs maintained control, winning 1-10 to 0-8. Douglas will aim to rebound against Valley Rovers on August 16, while St. Finbarr’s face Mallow the next day.
