Colleges / Divisions Competitions at final stages

 

The final of 2022 Colleges / Divisions Competitions will take place on Sunday, 21st August, with a double header taken place.

Up first will be the hurling final between Imokilly and Avondhu who won their semi-finals earlier this week. The game will take place at 6pm.  In the football final, Duhallow will meet Carbery at 7:45pm following their wins on Thursday night.

Scór Sinsir Workshops

Following on from the successful ‘Get Into Scór’ webinar held last week, there will be two workshops next week to help clubs get involved in Scór Sinsir 2022.

Cork GAA to commemorate Michael Collin’s 100th anniversary

Cork GAA are to commemorate 100th anniversary of the death of Michael Collins.

Speaking at the announcement of the event, Dónal McSweeney, Oifigeach Cultúr/Gaeilge for Cork GAA said

“It has been decided to recognise Michael Collins involvement in the GAA by participating in an event in Clonakilty on Saturday 20th August.
A parade through the town led by Brass Bands will commence at 2pm, the parade will start at Faxbridge , near Scally’s supermarket.
It will finish at Emmet Square where a wreath laying by Cathaoirleach Marc Sheehan will take place , It will be followed by  an address by Marc on the conncention of Michael Collins and the GAA”.

Colleges / Divisions Competitions to take centre stage this week

This week, the Colleges/ Divisons Premier Championship will take centre stage.

Four hurling teams and four football teams will all battle out for a place in the County Q-Final’s.

The winning team will play the 6th placed club team in the County Q-Final.

The opening game is in hurling. On Tuesday night, Paric Ui Rinn is the venue for the meeting of MTU and Imokilly in the first of the semi-finals. Mourne Abbey will host the second semi-final with UCC playing Avondhu on Wednesay night. Both games commence at 7:30pm.

 

The football competition will see both semi-finals taken place on Wednesday night. MTU will play Duhallow in Glantane while down in Macroom will be the battle of UCC and Carbery. Like the hurling fixtures, both these games will have 7:30pm start.
