Munster GAA is delighted to announce the launch of the 2026 Club Development Grants Scheme, with applications opening on 24th July 2026, providing clubs across the province with a significant opportunity to invest in their future and further enhance facilities at the heart of their communities.
The €1.5 million scheme funded through a partnership between Central Council
and Munster GAA and supports a wide range of club development initiatives.
Under the scheme, clubs can apply for support across a broad range of categories including land
acquisition, changing rooms, gym developments, handball facilities, pitch development,
floodlighting, hurling walls, spectator facilities, accessibility improvements and property
ownership regularisation.
The programme forms part of Munster GAA’s continued commitment to supporting clubs in
delivering high-quality facilities that encourage participation, strengthen communities and
provide lasting benefits for generations of players, members and supporters.
Munster GAA Chairperson, Tim Murphy welcomed the opening of the scheme and encouraged
clubs throughout the province to explore the opportunities available.
“Our clubs are at the heart of every community across Munster, and the Club Development
Grants Scheme is designed to help them realise their ambitions. Whether a club is planning a
major infrastructure project or enhancing existing facilities, this scheme provides practical
support to help turn those plans into reality.
Across the province, clubs continue to demonstrate incredible vision, commitment and
volunteerism. Munster GAA is proud to support that work through a grants programme that
invests directly in the future of our clubs, our communities and our games.
We would encourage every eligible club with a development project to review the guidelines and
consider making an application.”
The scheme aims to support projects that deliver long-term benefits while increasing
opportunities for participation in Gaelic Games.
Applications will be accepted through the dedicated online portal available via www.munster.gaa.ie.
All applications will be assessed through a comprehensive vetting process involving both
County Boards and Munster GAA.
The closing date for applications is 28 August 2026, with successful grant recipients expected to
be announced in October 2026.
Munster GAA acknowledges the outstanding work being carried out by volunteers and club
oicers throughout the province and is proud to continue supporting projects that strengthen
facilities, foster participation and build sustainable futures for clubs across Munster.

Bobby Power named on 2026 Minor Star Hurling Team of the Year
Congratulations to Bobby Power (Ballincollig) who has been named at corner-forward on the 2026 Electric Ireland Minor Star Hurling Team of the Year, following an outstanding championship campaign in the red jersey.

Power is Cork’s sole representative on this year’s prestigious selection, earning national recognition for his consistently impressive performances throughout the championship. Cork enjoyed an excellent campaign, reaching the Electric Ireland All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship Semi-Final, while Bobby’s displays throughout the year saw him recognised among the country’s top young hurlers.
This year’s Team of the Year is dominated by All-Ireland champions Limerick, who have seven representatives, while runners-up Tipperary have five selections. Cork, Galway and Kilkenny each have one player recognised.

Cork march into sixth straight Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Senior Camogie Final
First-half goals from Amy O’Connor and Millie Condon powered Cork to a 2-15 to 0-17 victory over Tipperary at FBD Semple Stadium, securing a sixth consecutive Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Senior Camogie Final appearance.
In front of a record semi-final double-header attendance of 10,311, Tipperary made the brighter start through Eimear McGrath and Clodagh McIntyre. Cork responded impressively, with Emma Murphy and the influential Sorcha McCartan finding their range before O’Connor fired home in the seventh minute after excellent work by McCartan.
Murphy finished the opening half with four points from play as Cork repeatedly exploited space in attack. Laura Hayes, Saoirse McCarthy, O’Connor and Orlaith Cahalane also raised white flags, while Condon struck a superb second goal in the 21st minute to leave the Rebels 2-11 to 0-08 ahead at the break.
Tipperary battled hard in the second half and threatened a comeback through McGrath, Grace O’Brien and teenage star Caoimhe Stakelum. A brilliant diving save from Amy Lee denied O’Brien a goal that could have transformed the contest.
Cork’s defence remained composed, with Méabh Murphy excelling as sweeper, and late points from Orlaith Mullins sealed an eight-point victory and another return to Croke Park.
