Glen Rovers Edge Out Cloyne in Dramatic Division 6 Hurling League Final
Glen Rovers emerged as RedFM Division 6 Hurling League champions after a tense and hard-fought final against Cloyne in Caherlag on Friday evening.
While the contest may not have delivered fireworks in terms of spectacle, it more than made up for it with a dramatic finish. The game’s turning point came midway through the second half when Evan Murphy found the net for Glen Rovers, swinging momentum in their favour.
However, Cloyne were far from finished. In the final three minutes of added time, they mounted wave after wave of attack, creating several scoring chances. But under intense pressure, their finishing let them down, and Glen Rovers – defending with everything they had – held firm.
For the Glen, those final moments felt like an eternity. For Cloyne, they were a story of missed opportunities. But when the final whistle sounded, it was the northsiders who celebrated a hard-earned victory and lifted the Division 6 trophy.
