County Championships Update 07/09/2020
Please note confirmation of the quarter-final and semi-final pairings after this weekend’s Bon Secours County Football Championships, as listed below. Seedings (1&2) in brackets.
The next round of football games is now scheduled for the weekend of September 18th-20th as there is dual involvement in fourteen of the fifteen remaining football games across the four competitions. A draft of football fixtures has gone to the CCC for consideration and will soon be released to clubs.
Therefore, it will be Co-Op Superstores Hurling Championship games only this weekend, as circulated previously and as listed underneath (note changes).
No final decision has been made on the scheduling of either hurling or football semi-finals yet, but it is likely that for the remainder of the year that most games will be played on the earliest possible date.

Cork GAA announce free year for Premium seat holders
Cork GAA are pleased to announce that a complementary year of action will be granted to all premium seat holders at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh, in lieu of the effects of Covid-19 global pandemic on the 2020 programme at the stadium.
CEO Kevin O’Donovan stated, “While our club championships this year have been one of our best ever, it has been tinged with regret that you our loyal supporters have not gained significant access to games.
On the day that marks Cork winning the All-Ireland hurling final 30 years ago we would like to inform you that we are delighted to extend premium tickets in Páirc Uí Chaoimh by a year in compensation for a summer lost to Covid-19.”
“As we look forward to the imminent return of our inter-county teams to action and as the club programme reaches a crescendo, we recognise the phenomenal contribution of our premium seat holders over the last few years. It has been a shame that our beautiful stadium laid empty for the summer months this year, therefore we hope that this gesture will bring some consolation in hope of better days in 2021 and beyond for our supporters.
None of us could have expected to see our gates closed to spectators and seats lying idle. However we must do what is in the best interest of the public and await confirmation from the authorities on when we can safely re-open to spectators.
We look forward to an inter-county season to rival 1990 and to welcoming our supporters back to the Páirc when it is safe to do so”.
