Co-Op Superstores Premier SHC Quarter-Final Preview

The Co-Op Superstores Premier Senior Hurling Championship reaches the knockout stages this Sunday, with three quarter-final fixtures taking place across Mallow and Midleton.

The group stages saw Charleville and Kanturk finish top of their respective groups, with Sarsfields and Glen Rovers progressing as runners-up. Imokilly joined the County Championship following their success in the Divisional/Colleges section, while Midleton have already secured their place in the County Semi-Final.

Charleville v Glen Rovers

Charleville topped Group 2 after recording wins over Sarsfields and Douglas before finishing the group stage with a defeat to Newtownshandrum.

Glen Rovers secured their quarter-final place after recovering from an opening-round defeat to Blackrock with victories over Kanturk and Fr O’Neill’s.

Kanturk finished second in Group 1, behind Glen Rovers on scoring difference.

They opened their campaign with a win over Fr O’Neill’s, followed by a narrow defeat to Glen Rovers before responding with a victory over Blackrock.

Sarsfields also finished with four points after recovering from an opening-round defeat before recording wins in their remaining group games.

The reigning champions now face Kanturk with a place in the semi-finals at stake.

Imokilly v St Finbarr’s

Imokilly and St Finbarr’s meet in the Premier SHC quarter-finals for the second consecutive year.

Imokilly progressed from the Divisional/Colleges section as winners and booked their place in the knockout rounds, while St Finbarr’s advanced as group runners-up.

The sides meet in Midleton with a semi-final place at stake.

The knockout stages are now down to the final four, with Aghada and Midleton progressing from the quarter-finals to complete the semi-final line-up.

Both semi-finals now offer a place in the Intermediate ‘A’ Hurling Championship Final, with the four remaining clubs just one victory away from a county final appearance.

At the other end of the championship, Russell Rovers and Ballygiblin will meet in the Relegation Final, with Premier Intermediate ‘A’ status on the line.

The road to the final is now set. 🏆

Premier IHC Semi-Final Line-Up Confirmed

The quarter-final stage of the Co-Op Superstores Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship is now complete, with Carrigaline and Dungourney booking their places in the last four.

Carrigaline came through their quarter-final clash against Cloyne and now face Ballincollig in what promises to be a highly competitive Semi-Final 1.

Dungourney also progressed from the quarter-finals after overcoming Aghabullogue and will now take on Valley Rovers in Semi-Final 2.

With a place in the county final at stake, four clubs remain in contention for Premier Intermediate honours. Elsewhere, attention will also focus on the Relegation Final, where Lisgoold and Bishopstown battle to preserve their Premier Intermediate status.

Please see below the McCarthy Insurance Football Championship Quarter Final and Relegation Play-Off fixtures, as ratified by the CCC.
All Quarter Final games will be played under Winner-on-the-Day regulations.
Relegation Play-Offs will proceed to Extra Time if the game is level at the end of normal time. Should the game remain level following Extra Time, a Replay will be required.

Premier Intermediate Football Championship Update; 
Following an official objection lodged by Fermoy GAA Club regarding the full time result of the Premier Intermediate Football Championship, Round 3 fixture between Fermoy and Ballinora, played on Saturday September 12th, the Quarter-Final fixtures have been placed on hold pending the outcome of the objection.
An update on the Quarter-Final fixtures, which are scheduled for the weekend of September 27th will be circulated once the process has concluded.
