McCarthy Insurance Group Premier JFC – Group Stage Complete

The group stage of the McCarthy Insurance Group Premier Junior Football Championship has reached its conclusion, with all 12 teams having completed their three group games.

Canovee finished as the standout team of the group stage, topping Group B with five points after two wins and a draw. Their final-round victory over Na Piarsaigh confirmed their place at the top.

Cobh also finished unbeaten, recording two wins and suffering a narrow one-point defeat to Inniscarra, while Inniscarra secured second place in Group A following their impressive final-round win over Glenville.

St Nicks finished second in Group B after recording wins over Na Piarsaigh and Kilmacabea, while Kinsale topped a tightly contested Group C following wins over Millstreet and Cullen.

Cullen also progress from Group C, having finished level on points with Kinsale, while Millstreet and St Vincents narrowly miss out on the knockout stages.

McCarthy Insurance Group Premier JFC – Round 3 Results

The final round of the McCarthy Insurance Group Premier Junior Football Championship group stage delivered six games as teams battled to finish their campaigns on a winning note and secure their place in the knockout stages.

Canovee produced the biggest win of the round, cruising to a 4-16 to 0-08 victory over Na Piarsaigh, while Cobh finished strongly with a convincing 5-07 to 0-14 win over Urhan.

Inniscarra secured a valuable victory over Glenville, winning 3-11 to 1-10, while Millstreet edged past Cullen on a 1-14 to 2-10 scoreline.

There was a one-point thriller between St Nicks and Kilmacabea, with St Nicks coming out on top 2-10 to 1-10.

The final game of the round saw St Vincents finish their group campaign with a strong 2-14 to 0-11 victory over Kinsale.

The race for the McCarthy Insurance Group Football Championship knockout stages intensifies this weekend as Round 3 gets underway across Cork.

Two rounds of group action have already produced plenty of drama, with several groups finely poised heading into the next round. With the top two teams in each group progressing to the knockout stages, there is little room for error as clubs look to put themselves in the strongest possible position.

The opening rounds have delivered a series of close contests and eye-catching results, with unbeaten starts, narrow defeats and high-scoring victories shaping the various groups. For some teams, another win could put them within touching distance of the knockout stages, while others will know that points are now essential.

Knock-Out stages confirmed of Co-Op Superstores Premier SHC

The Premier Senior Hurling Championship moves into its knockout phase with three quarter-final ties on the schedule. Kanturk take on Sarsfields in Quarter-Final A, while Charleville face Glen Rovers in Quarter-Final B. The remaining quarter-final match pairs St Finbarrs against Imokilly in Quarter-Final C.

Midleton have earned a direct route to the semi-finals and will face the winner of the Charleville and Glen Rovers tie in Semi-Final 1. In Semi-Final 2, the winner of Kanturk versus Sarsfields will play the winner of the St Finbarrs and Imokilly match. The victors of both semi-finals will advance to the championship final.

At the bottom of the bracket, Douglas and Fr O’Neills meet in the Relegation Final to determine which club retains its premier status for next season.

Co-Op Superstores Premier IHC: Final League Placings Confirmed

The Co-Op Superstores Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship league stage is complete, with the final standings now confirmed and the knockout places secured.

The three groups produced plenty of drama, with Ballincollig, Aghabullogue, Cloyne, Dungourney, Valley Rovers and Carrigaline progressing to the knockout stages.

Group A

Ballincollig finish top of Group A with a perfect six points from three games, underlining their impressive campaign.

Aghabullogue take second place on four points, with Éire Óg finishing third on two points and Bishopstown fourth without a point.

Ballincollig and Aghabullogue therefore advance to the knockout stages.

Group B

Cloyne finish at the top of Group B on four points, with Dungourney also finishing on four.

Cloyne take first place on scoring difference, with Dungourney in second.

Castlemartyr and Lisgoold both finish on two points, with Castlemartyr taking third place and Lisgoold fourth.

Group C

Valley Rovers finish top of Group C on four points after an unbeaten campaign.

Carrigaline take second place on three points, ahead of Ballymartle, who also finish on three. Carrigaline’s superior scoring difference sees them claim the second knockout position.

Kilworth finish fourth on two points.
