Cork GAA Northside Urban Project 2025–2027 Launch

Cork GAA Northside Urban Project 2025–2027

A Game-Changing Investment in the Future of our Communities

Cork GAA is proud to unveil a bold, energising and community-driven initiative designed to reignite

Gaelic Games across the Northside of Cork City. Backed by the Munster Council, the Northside Urban Project
is a dynamic three-year programme focused on growth, inclusion, and opportunity for every young person—
regardless of their background or ability.

  • This is more than a sports plan.
  • It’s a movement.
  • It’s a fresh energy for the Northside.
  • It’s GAA brought right into the heart of the community.

Why This Project Matters

The Northside is home to over 70,000 people, nine proud clubs, and almost 12,500 schoolchildren—a powerhouse of potential. But many families face barriers: economic pressures, limited access to facilities, and fewer opportunities to get involved.

This project is our answer. A chance to remove barriers, build confidence, and bring Gaelic Games directly to where young people live, learn, and play.

The 2027 Vision

By the end of the project, Cork GAA will deliver:

  • A Nursery Programme in every club
  • A 60% increase in underage player numbers
  • 135+ newly trained coaches
  • Major growth in school-to-club pathways
  • Stronger, more connected communities

Join the Movement

This is a transformational moment for Cork’s Northside—and we want everyone involved. Clubs, schools,
volunteers, parents, and young people all have a role to play.

Inclusive GAA Camp Returns to SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh for a Second Year

The 2025 Inclusive GAA Camp at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh welcomed children of all abilities for a memorable week of fun, movement, and connection – marking the second year of this successful initiative under the GAA4All and Cúl Camps programmes.

Led by Camp Coordinator Paudie Crowley and Coach Mick Daly, the camp was made possible through a strong partnership between Cork Sports Partnership, the HSE, PepsiCo, along with Coaching and Games team in Cork GAA – all working together to break down barriers and promote inclusion in sport.

“Every participant had the opportunity to shine. This camp shows what’s possible when we all work together to remove barriers to participation,” said Paudie Crowley.

The camp was praised by parents, including Mary, who shared:

“It’s one of the few places where my child is completely included, encouraged, and accepted. The coaches go above and beyond – it’s the highlight of our summer.”

PepsiCo’s continued support, along with guidance from Cork Sports Partnership and the HSE, highlights a growing commitment to inclusive sport, wellbeing and community development in Cork.
