On Saturday 23rd July, 171 teams representing 72 clubs will descend on Pairc Uí Chaoimh and Pairc ui Rinn for the Final Round of the U9, U10, and U11 Summer League.
The Go Games Summer League is a shortened games program where teams are paired geographically for a series of matches with Modified rules.
In football, a hand pass must be followed by a kick pass and in Hurling, players are only allowed catch the ball from a puck out or free, with lift & strike or ground strike being the most used strokes.
The modified rules are simply a way of challenging players to play the game slightly differently from what they normally would. Another side effect is a leveling off of skill levels, with dominant players being challenged to broaden their skill set.
The action kicks off in both venues at 9 am Saturday morning, with 6 games ongoing at a time with teams in action for 1-hour slots. 180 games in total will take place with approx 1,600 players taking part in the action.
It is the culmination of 3 weeks of activity with blitzes taking place on the last 3 Wednesday nights with up to 28 venues hosting between 4 and 8 teams on a weekly basis.
Clubs will take a small break before the Go Games Program restarts in Mid August. Thanks to all the clubs, mentors, players, and parents for making the Summer League a success for 2022
A kick out coaching workshop will take place on Saturday 19th February at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh from 9:00am to 11:00am.
