McCarthy Insurance Group Senior Football Championship Semi-Finals
The McCarthy Insurance Group Senior Football Championship continues to showcase the very best of Cork club football, with big performances and tight margins shaping the road to this year’s semi-finals.
After an exciting group stage, Nemo Rangers, St Finbarr’s, and Newcestown emerged unbeaten, each topping their respective groups with strong scoring form. Castlehaven, Carrigaline, and Ballincollig joined them in the knockout rounds.
In the quarter-finals, St Finbarr’s produced a powerful attacking display to overcome Castlehaven, while Ballincollig edged Duhallow after an end-to-end contest. Newcestown and Carrigaline couldn’t be separated after normal and extra time at Páirc Uí Rinn — before Newcestown held their nerve in a dramatic penalty shootout to secure a place in the semi-finals.
With every score now carrying extra weight and the margins tightening, the 2025 championship remains wide open — and every game promises more top-class football.
