In 2023, Scór na nÓg will reach a historic milestone with it being 50 years since the first All-Ireland of this competition took place. With this in mind, we would love to see an extra special effort being made by all the clubs and divisions throughout the county and to participate in this special year for Scór na nÓg. In 1973, the first All-Ireland Scór na nÓg Final was held and Cork had two All-Ireland Champions on the day, so let’s continue our rich Scór tradition and take part 50 years on in 2023.

Remember there are eight events/disciplines in Scór that cover all aspects of Irish culture: Rince Foirne/Figure Dancing, Amhránaíocht Aonair/Solo Singing, Bailéad Ghrúpa/Ballad Group, Aithriseoireacht-Scéalaíocht/Recitation-Scéalaíocht, Nuachleas/Novelty Act, Ceol Uirlise/Instrumental Music, Rince Seit/Set Dancing and Tráth na gCeist/Table Quiz. Scór na nÓg, for young people under 17 and Scór na bPáistí is ran by Coiste Scór Chorcaí for primary school children and encompasses the above competions plus, Rince Aonair/Solo Dance, Ceol Aonair/Solo Music and Rince ar Seanós/Seanós Dancing.

You can find many Scór resources including the rule book here: https://www.gaa.ie/the-gaa/cultur-agus-gaeilge/scor

Keep up to date with all the latest Scór news on the Scór Chorcaí Facebook page and let the practice commence!
