Mayfield face Barryroe in Belgooly, while St Catherine’s and Tracton complete the Round 3 programme at Páirc Uí Rinn.

Senior A Hurling Championship: Final Round Permutations

The final round of the Co-Op SuperStores Senior A Hurling Championship takes place this Saturday, with plenty still to be decided across the three groups.

Group 1

Blarney and Watergrasshill have both secured their places in the knockout stages.

Their final-round meeting in Grenagh will decide who finishes top of the group.

  • Blarney: A win or draw will secure top spot and a place directly in the semi-finals.
  • Watergrasshill: A win will see them finish top and advance directly to the semi-finals.
  • Ballyhea and Castlelyons: Both are out of contention for qualification. Their meeting in Mallow will determine their final position in the group and is important in terms of avoiding the relegation play-off.

Group 2

Erin’s Own have already secured top spot and will advance directly to the semi-finals.

  • Erin’s Own: Through to the semi-finals as group winners.
  • Killeagh and Na Piarsaigh: Both have two points and meet in Midleton. The winner will qualify for the knockout stages.
  • Na Piarsaigh: A draw will be enough to secure second place due to their superior scoring difference.
  • Fermoy: Need at least a draw against Erin’s Own to avoid the relegation play-off.

Group 3

Group 3 is the most open, with all four teams still in contention for qualification.

Ballinhassig currently top the group and face Carrigtwohill at Páirc Uí Rinn.

Knockout draw confirmed in Co-Op Superstores Intermediate ‘A’ Hurling Championship

The pathway to the Co-Op Superstores Intermediate ‘A’ Hurling Championship final has been confirmed, with six teams remaining in contention for county honours.

Mallow will face Aghada in Quarter-Final A, while Youghal and Midleton meet in Quarter-Final B.

The semi-final draw has already been structured around the group-stage results. Sarsfields will meet the winner of the Youghal v Midleton quarter-final, while Bandon will face the winner of Mallow v Aghada.

Importantly, no repeat pairing from the group stage can take place in the semi-finals.

The two semi-final winners will then meet in the Co-Op Superstores Intermediate ‘A’ Hurling Championship Final, with the county title and promotion to the Premier Intermediate grade at stake.

There is also plenty on the line in the relegation battle, with Russell Rovers and Ballygiblin set to meet in the Relegation Final.

Intermediate A Hurling Championship: Final Group Standings

The group stages of the Co-Op Superstores Intermediate A Hurling Championship have now concluded, with the final standings confirming the teams progressing to the knockout stages.

Group A sees Bandon finish top with five points, followed by Aghada on three. Kilbrittain finish third, while Russell Rovers end their campaign in fourth place. (Aghada finish above Kilbrittain due to head to head)

In Group B, Mallow top the standings on five points, with Midleton securing second place. Blackrock finish third ahead of Kildorrery.

Sarsfields lead the way in Group C with a perfect six points from their three games, while Youghal finish second. Erin’s Own and Ballygiblin complete the group standings.
